Hello all just wanted to say Hi and to let you know this is a fantastic site .
My interests are in Japanese sword fittings and the techniques behind how these little masterpieces are made.
I have made one tsuba so far but plan to make lots more with help from this site.
Here is a pic of my first attempt at a tsuba

Hi Ford, been watching for a while and decided to join up thanks

Clive I'm not a tsuba maker I enjoy all aspects of making Japanese swords that includes forging them as well, its just this part I have a little trouble with :)

Welcome to The Carving Path forum! What part of Australia are you from? Do you know others on the continent who share your interest in sword fittings?

Hi Janel and thanks mate  I live on the east coast in a place called Brisbane. Do you know it?
I know of one other person who is interested, a fellow named Glen Drane I'm sure he is a member here as well, anyway he's also a member of a sword forum here in OZ and put me onto this site (god bless him) but he resides way down south.
There are a few on the Aus Blade forum that have an solid interest in fittings but mainly in collecting not making.

Cheers
