I found this creepy crawler on my deck.

Great! I have enjoyed feeding such spiders, which I believe are called orb weavers. At this time of year the grasshoppers are plentiful, so tossing one or two into the web brings a quick response. What a master of action she is, wrapping her web fibers into a cocoon around the insect for later consumption! One remained in the grapevines on the kiln building so long, that I began to call her Elizzzabeth because of the great ZZZZZZ line at the central part of the web.
