Hi,
Thought everyone would enjoy this Meiji period boxwood tanto. The piece is inlaid with horn, ivory and mother of pearl. The Dragons are in high relief, up to a half inch where the kurikata would be located. The end of the tsuka is a phoenix. The blade is signed, sixteenth century. The habaki seems to be Mount Fuji. Sorry about the glare but I had to use a flash.

Beautiful piece. Thanks for sharing. I have a hand made Katana from the Edo period on display in my Dojo along with about 30 netsuke.

This piece makes me want to get to work. Again, thanks for sharing.

That's a lovely piece,Dick and I'm amazed the sheen of the wood's still really rich. Many thanks.

Thank you. The piece is in remarkible condition for being over a hundred years old. I also thought the dragons were neat.
