Hello Friends!
There is a wonderful set carved by a gifted artist! Does anybody recognise the signature or style of this carver? Please help!

Looks like an SW..? hmm mysterious..
DEATH be not proud, though some have called thee
Mighty and dreadfull, for, thou art not so,
For, those, whom thou think'st, thou dost overthrow,
Die not, poore death, nor yet canst thou kill me.

Hi Natasha, I'm really not sure but it might be an Israeli carver called George Weill.. I haven't seen or heard of him on the scene for a long time, he might not even be around any longer.. but stylistically its very close to some of his work and approach.

Nothing to be ashamed of! Maybe another color for the cord, but I like it.

Is it your's Natasha?

Hi Clive! Thank You for your reply! Where can I see the works by George Weill? I couldn't find anything in the Internet!
Hi Leon! No, it was not done by Susan Wraight! She was asked! And no, it is not mine!

The answer is:

W. C. Shots - US, 1937-2009

Signature: http://www.randdorientalart.com/photos/net...af.shotts.e.JPG
The piece: http://www.randdorie...om/netsukes.htm

Thank you Freda for your list from April 2009! I looked for the W last names and my second foray was a hit.
