Konnichi wa, Dudes and Dudettes,

i thought these images would be of some interest, and i did promise Doug i`d try and get some examples posted to illustrate what I was talking about re; Ishime type surfaces.

Ford
btw. I did`nt make any of these. They are all old and made by well known ( to afficionados ) Tsuba artists.

and these are all man-made surfaces? It would be funny to see a restorer get his hands on these and try to innocently clean them up... well, maybe not so funny. ;)

It's a shame I can't see them, any chance of a repeat when you stop getting a tan my friend? or did I get to see them while I was there?

Ford!
Welcome back. How has the move been? Are you all settled yet?
Good to have you back.

I'm afraid Ford has yet to return. I made the same mistake and even posted a welcome back and then noticed the date of his post; July 2005! Hope we'll hear from him soon.

Last time he wrote he said that with any luck he would be chiseling last monday and that by the end of the month he would have a laptop, so I would assume some time soon.
