Nice work. Do you use diamond burrs to work the jade? I've never tried stone and don't know anything about it.

Hi Don

We use diamond tool for all parts of the carving and do it wet with jade. if you work it dry the jade can fracture from the heat. if you want to learn more about stone carving check to see if there is a local rock club by you. they could show and teach you a lot. also check on youtube for videos on the subject. have a great day

Very nice. I like the binding at the top. I have taught myself some of that, but would love to know how to correctly do this style.

Hi,

Nice work, I really find the lashing nice, I only saw it on the hei-toki adze kind of pendant, but sure it works really well with the hei-matau.
