Hi all you'alls!

I am very relieved to have the forum back on line! Thanks for your messages of concern when it was not available to you.

Remember, if you have links on your web sites to The Carving Path Forum, please remember to correct the url to use .net now.

Thank you,

Janel

It is not over yet. The images from the posts are missing! What a bummer. I have submitted a tech support ticket to the IPS/IPB folks. Lets hope the images will get connected to their posts.

Wiping the brow smiley! Phew. A half a day with things going smoothly, what a relief.

How frustrating! Glad to be back on the air.

Nice job, Janel! Thanks for being the backbone of this outfit...

I spoke too soon. I cannot get into the two page web site to change the links, and further discovered that the Amazon.com to thecarvingpath(formerly).com linking should be very likely defunct. Sigh. The book store will be off line until some time in the future when I can get to it.

I am also trying to contact others who might have the forum linked on their web pages. I hope that everyone will update the url to .net as soon as is possible. We've got to get Google and the other search engines informed of the .net change.

The words of appreciation are well received. I have had some wonderful email from folks who missed the forum, and others who know that this is a unique resource for the sharing of information. It fuels the engine when things need to be done for the forum. Many thanks to you all.

Those problems are solved now and I hope that there are no great ones hiding somewhere.

Greg D. I am trying to make a reply here to see if it is possible. It does not appear to be a closed topic.

Hi Greg,

Here is a reduced image of a recent reply I made to Ed Jones in Who's Who.

Attached Image: post-2-1169424386.jpg

Are you in the version of the board appearance which looks like this? This is from an admin version of the board on my browser, so there might be some things you won't see , like the Moderations Options and Merge Posts... but just under merge posts there are three buttons: FastREPLY, AddREPLY and NewTOPIC. That is the Fast Reply button you should be seeing. I clicked that button and a Fast Reply box opened.

You have used it before, I know that! You have posted numerous times. I wonder what is happening for you. Or not happening. I do see the fast reply button on the Addmin Announcement > Welcome Back To The Forum!

Is this what you see at the bottom of the last topic?

Attached Image: post-2-1169424957.jpg

Then you are in the Lo-Fi version and may not be able to make a reply. Click the little words "click here" and the browser will look like the above blue and gray version.

I am sure scratching my head on this one. Is it only this particular topic which you are unable to post in? Is anyone else having abberations from the norm with the forum?

I hope that this can get figured out for you Greg! It would be pretty awful if you could not post anymore! I wonder what is going on?

Hi gang! It is so nice to see folks back and logged in! Last week had a few really quiet days. What fun to see: tsterling, Donn Salt, old_greek, ford hallam, Doug Sanders and six guests all tickling the pages here at the moment!

I want to let the members know that I am departing for the netsuke convention by way of New York City, Wednesday the 24th, and will return home February 1, around midnight. I'll be back on line and ready to roll up the sleeves on the 2nd. Tom Sterling and Don Fogg will still be on guard if you have any need of help from the admin folks.

If I can log in, I'll give the forum a wave.

Kindest regards,

Janel
