I want to keep the Where in the World? map at the top of the window so everyone can see the map when it opens. It will be closed to member additions, so when you have comments or additions, please place them in this topic. Thanks, Janel

Moved from Where in the World?
From Sergio, December 30, 2006
hi Janel, it's a good idea. I see we are comming from all the world to talk about our passion, it's fantastic. I hope to see more carvers and their works, it's very intrusting. Since i have seen this forum, my vision of carving change, i see more possibilitys to work, i find others inspirations, i'm very happy to discover carvers like you (Natasha, Sergey, Jim, etc....) and i work my english, "que demande le peuple!".

hallo, I'm a new member from Pennabilli, Italy.
You can see my whereabouts opening
http://www.pennabilli.org/dove.html and then clicking Google maps.
Or directly
http://maps.google.it/maps?daddr=61016+Pen...925598&om=1May I suggest that when you click on a spot on the world map, you can have the choice to send an email to the member living there (if he agrees). Maybe you already thought abt that.

I think that I cannot do that with this forum's software. I am not in control of the board format information. It could be interesting though. The map is a general representation of where the members are located, and keeps a sort of anonymity for everyone. Thanks for the suggestion.
My location is rural, and the modem speed takes ten minutes for one M to up or download, so Google maps are very, very frustrating for me to use since they are very high file size. That is why I opted to have a web formatted JPEG which I can change simply when I have time to update it.

Six more dots were added today. Have a look and see if there is a dot in your approximate location. PM or Email your location to me, and I will get it added to the map. We are at about 1/5th of our TCP membership being represented on this map, and the world wide spread of members is awesome!

And although Ford says I'm a vagabond Janel, currently I'm in Venezuela, the very northern tip of South America, and if you wanted to be super specific I would be located in a city called Lecheria (not far at all from Puerto La Cruz and Barcelona)
That should help

Hi Janel
I may have said H˙llyn was a vagabond but he's the nicest one I've met

. I'm just concerned that he's moved to a place that sounds like "lecherous"!

HAHAHAHA you know Ford, there are lots of expats here from oil companies, as a consequence there are a lot of activities organized by them, one such activity was a theatre group which organized a pantomime for a local charity, so of course I was involved. The pantomime in question was "Cenicienta (cinderella)" and on purpose the name of the prince was changes to the "Prince of Lecherous"
So there you go, you are not very far off the mark.
Hi Janel, thanks for adding me to it, although I should have asked where exactly can I check the map *is doing thick person's impressions*

TCP has had a number of new members register lately. I have updated the world map with more new dots, but not all of the member's locations yet. Finding where you all live is fun for me.
I would be happy to add your dot to the map, just PM me with where you live, and I will add a dot to the general area where you live.

Hi Craig,
Thanks for the location information. When you are on the home page for the forum, click on Who's Who, then find the pinned topic "Where In The World". You should be able to find it that way.

I am amazed that it has been so long since I updated this map! My apologies. This year has been a hum-dinger for being busy. I am keeping a bit of a list so that when I get a stretch of time for it, I will pop a bunch of new dots on the map for all of the members who have so kindly sent me their info. We really do have an international membership!
Thanks everyone,
Janel

Hello everyone, I tried to introduce myself yesterday and am not sure where I have sent the posting... My wife and I make our living with carved signs; www.WECARVE.com I also enjoy building furniture and carving various types of material. I have been following this site for a while now and am very impressed with the quality and professinalism of the work. hope to add a few pix of my own soon. Thanks, Anthony Albano Avondale, PA

Hi Anthony,
Thank you for the introduction, where ever it ended up! It is possible that you clicked the GO button instead of the Add Reply button. It happens to me sometimes. If I realize that I have done that before moving on to another page, I can press the back button on my browser, and retrieve the message and post it.
Your signs are quite attractive. I am partial to the Jennie's Flounder and the Fenwick crab signs, though the quality and impact of the other signs are very impressive. Lucky folks to have your signage.
Here is a crab sign for you to enjoy! I saw this one in Kyoto. Its legs and eyes all move!
I look forward to seeing more of what you do. Welcome again to the forum.

I have been working on the map and have added around 100 more dots for member locations, for a total so far of about 174 members who have shared their locations. (Some dots are placed within the boundary of a country when only a country name is give, so you may not find where you are exactly on the map.)
Happy New Year to you all!

Hi Janel. Put a dot on Morden Mb. Cda.
I'm in the bush near there somewhere.
You may have to wait. The dot might fall off because it's damn cold here right now. Brrrrrr (LOL)
And a Happy New Year to you as well.
Bill
(After thought) -- you may be putting dots for only small scale carvers, I am really just a guest admirer who carves big things.
