My New Animal Carvings (Dmitrygor)

Recommended Posts

Dear friends,

Sorry that I posted it twice, in my Who's Who page as well...now I know that new works are sooner to be presented here...

...and here come some fotos of my recent carving, that's a hunting knife stand, made of moufflon antler - the material which carves quite wonderfully and the carving has a nice soft pink colouring when worked on and polished and finished.

The scene carved is from my mind and imagination....

I'd be very grateful for your comments and opinions!

This is really well done. The medium seems slightly translucent, does that ever mess with your eyes?

Oh, thank you! No, it is quite alright for the eyes! and carves splendidly at that!

Dear Friends,

I am posting some pictures of another recently finished moose antler carving, my "Bear and Laika" (moose antler, wood).

This time I played with toning a bit using new approaches and materials...

Dear Friends,

Thank you very very much for your kind words, they are very encouraging!!!!!

And here I am posting some fotos of another carving of mine - Moose and Two Wolves Chasing

The moose, the wolves, the trees are carved into the antler and coloured by burning; and are carved against the background of a landscape (burning technique).
