Any Luck On Etsy Anyone?

Recommended Posts

I'm thinking about putting some stuff up on Etsy.com. I know it's more of a "craft" type market place, but I've been doing a little market research, and there are some amazing things being sold on etsy. So I was just curious, has anyone else started a store on etsy? If so, how's it going?

A question for everyone, are there other options similar to etsy without traveling all over?

Any thoughts on using a site like etsy would be great.

thanks,

Izzy

ps. I know it's been a while, but the family and I just bought a house, and I finally have a shop (the garage, which no cars are allowed to enter)

glad to be back.

Just finished a stylized frog, I'll post some pics when I get them taken.

Izzy,

I have a few things on Etsy. I think my type of work is high priced for that crowd but it's nice to have it "out there" and it doesn't cost much to run my shop. It only cost 20 cents to list for 4 months.

Carving is mostly a hobby for me so I have trouble knowing where to price my work. So far no sales but it does provide a place for family and friends to view my work.

Search for "metalcarver" on etsy.com to find my shop. Feel free to buy. :)

I too have a shop on etsy, this is what i have found..the more unique the better... and when listing items use key words in the title because when people search the titles are a first search of key words. So if the market isnt swamped with your type of craft the better and the titles used are a great way to get out there in the media. the down side is this is a crafters market trying to sell their craft not so much to purchase other craft...I have a huge wish list there and i cant get all the things i want, but a little bit each time. Hope this helps.
