A gentleman emailed me about a carving that was supposed to be from New Zealand. I was hoping someone would recognize the piece and i could point him in a direction. I've never seen the design before, Thanks in advance.

Brent, I doubt you'll find the carver.

Maori and Oceanic carving is lovely, and it's also inspired many people.

Unfortunately, some of these people are the many immigrant Asians in AUS, who produce many identical copies of traditional work and sell them to tourists, both in Australia and New Zealand.

Unless you can show close-ups or can find a makers mark on it, there's little hope of identifying the carver.
