Wolfgang Loerchner
I am a knifemaker, and have not carved a thing in my life. I do a great deal of filework however, and have been looking at ways to expand on this. I know that I don't have enough artistic talent to even attempt any true carving, but I am hoping to incorporate some of the techniques demonstrated on this forum. I know that I will be taking away much more than I can contribute, but I will do my best. Iam very much looking forward to spending some time here. Jim Kelso
Welcome Wolf!! Long-time-no-see. Glad to see you here, and it's wonderful to see your amazing work again. Not so sure that filing can't be considered a carving technique. Jim

Phil White
Welcome, Wolfgang The lines in your work are beautiful, particularly the folding knife. Speaking as one who considers the file to be one of the most generally misunderstood tools of the last, as well as the present century, I would definitly say that it qualifies as a carving tool. JP Anderson
That sure looks like nice carving to me. Reminds me of chip carving in wood without the chips. Excellent work.
magnus homestead
Welcome Wolfgang! Your work is superb! You are being quite modest - you've already added to the forum with this first posting of your very refined knives. Thank you. Magnus
