Don Barnhill
Well, here it is, my first attempt at Kagami-buta. It is teak and Cherry with a leaf carved from deer antler. It is 1.5 inches in diameter by 1/2 inch thick. I turned the bowl on my lathe and did the lid by hand as I don't have a faceplate for turning bowls. That may be my next aquisition. I've included a shot of my workbench and another project I've been attempting. The counter top was a salvaged piece that a renter didn't want. I'm not crazy about the color, but the price was right, free!
