Just a quick note to say hi to everyone.

I'm a reasonably new carver even though I've been doing it on an off for about 10 years.

I work with Yew Wood, BC Deep Water Coral and rock of all types, mostly on the softer side (limetone, brucite etc.)

I am really looking forward to participating here. I will work on getting a few pictures up but I need to sort out the size of the ones I have.

Here are two projects I just finished.

The first is an "Ax" for a client. The head is made from Brucite, the handle from Pacific Yew Wood and the "dangle" is home made coral beads and some Fish Spines. (11" w x 22" h)

The second is a "bowl" as a gift for my sister. The rock is Brucite as well. The picture is kind of fuzzy, the polish is way better in person.

Thanks

Tom

Tom:

Welcome to the forum, you'll find other stone carvers here.

The brucite is pretty, looks a little like serpentine. I understand it's really soft, like soapstone. I really like the color, and what you've done with it.
