Hi all,

thought the following link might prove of interest, Higo inlay

The photos show the steps involved in producing "nunome zogan", here refered to as Higo ( a province in the south of Honshu ) inlay.

If you check the menu you can find your way around this fairly interesting site, there may even be a few little handy tricks of the trade revealed, I`m not saying

regards, Ford

Dan, Hi,

the base metal is mild steel, although this technique can be applied to shibuichi, hard brass and pure iron and any steels so long as they arn`t hardened, obviously

btw, what`s a "Yanone"?

Cheers, Ford

Hi Dan,

thanks for that, I feel a bit of a twit now, of course I`m familiar with yanone, I just did`nt recognise the word out of context. They certainly are great sculptural objects.

cheers, Ford
