Can Anyone Identify This "northern California Jade"?

David, there are few simple tests that identify true jade from fakes, SG, fracture, hardness, and just a trained eye, it looks like some type of jasper, both nephrite and jadeite have a uneven splintery fracture, not concoidal glassy, you could do a sg test , weight divided by volume, so many fakes are sold by dealers world wide, a friend purchased some jade at Tucson this year, said to be jadeite from Mexico, was to cheap and to soft, we had it tested, is Californite, the list of fakes is huge.
