This is one of the first carvings in rhodonite I done about 4 years back, a challenge to keep together, not tough like jade but awesome color, may have posted in the past but this pic does it much better justice, not to many locations world wide have this color.

I carve rhodonite very much like jade, diamond points used in a flex shaft grinder, micro motor or air tool, much easier and quicker than jades, always finished by hand to smooth, our local Tamworth material in the good red is around $50 AU kg, there is good rhodonite in Canada, Aussie freight is quite expensive, would cost more for freight than the stone, a good friend owns the mine this carving comes from in the Tamworth region, image attached.
