Dan
I turned a bowl out of soapstone it looks great but I want to blend in the scratches on the surface. anyone who is familiar with soap stone or any stone carving is there a way I can make the scratches less noticeable without resanding for the 6th time. any tips or recommendations? like would sanding with wet sandpaper with oil on the paper help be better then dry sanding? Kurt K
What grid did you use? any picture of the finish you got right now? Wet sanding does help on some material, but not all.

Bella Nicol
Wet sanding is good with soapstone, rub it and buff it using turtle wax and a soft cloth, then rub it with oil. That was how I learned when I began carving in soapstone. Good luck
