Ditto. It is now a sculptural piece with form, translucency, light and shadow. Making reference to scales, at this "scale" of tiny would not accurately reference the tiny scales. Doing surface alteration would distract from the liveliness of the form and reduce the enchantment of the translucency of the material. In my opinion.

That is a very cool piece. What is dugong? Guess I could have Googled that, but then I couldn't have mentioned what a very cool piece that is. Thanks.

 

And for what it's worth, I agree with Billy and Janel. Later with the scales!
