michael B
Carving chrysoprase is a very slow process even using diamond abrasives and sanding, this will take heaps more time than my jade and opal carvings, I need to find some diamond paper suppliers, been cutting up old exp drum diamond belts, does work good. Jesse
Probably a dumb question but what's the difference, is it in the stone? I always thought the jades were of the most difficult at least to finish.
michael B
Hello Jesse, this chrysoprase was extremely hard 7 plus, much harder than nephrite jades, it was the original carving and smoothing that was much slower, once I had removed all the bumps and humps it was great to polish, but chrysoprase is much more brittle than quality nephrite jade so huge care was taken, a pic of the finished product. http://mickandmarg.webs.com/
