Billy
It's Waitangi Day in New Zealand today (6 February). We celebrate the signing of a treaty, put in place to bring peace between Maori and Pakeha. With a few little problems alone the way, it has largely done just that. This piece is called Hurihuringa, which translates to 'reflections'. The best way to prepare for our future, is to reflect on our past. Mauriora friends. Billy. Bella Nicol
Oh my... What a magnificent piece. I think what is so very special about your work is the way in which you allow the material to "speak" so incredibly well! WOW! This one in particular has to be one of my favourites! I can tell this tooth is from way down deep in the depths. Happy Waitangi Day Gareth what a lovely way to commemorate!
Christophe
Kia Ora Billy, I guess it is needless to tell you that once again you've presented us an amazing carving with crispy lines and so on and so forth. One thing I really like on this one is the texture effect you've done on the lip of the mouth (am I clear?!) And this paua you've been using for the eye, man, what a beautiful color. As always: BRAVO. Christophe
