Lachlan
Just finished these two pieces. The flower was started in Feb but I only just finished the silver work for it. Its a lovely blue Guatemalan jadeite! The second is a stylised fish inspired by the inanga or whitebait carvings of maori culture. In my piece the basket weave of the binding represents the basket in which the fish once caught would have been stored. This piece was heaps of fun and easy to make. I had heaps of fun trying to work out how to do the basket weave binding, I knew in my head how the pattern would work but getting the repeating patten down took a few hours Im looking forward to making some more fish- its a great use of scrap pieces of jade! Oh and a little hammerhead I made too! Here is a link to the step by step progress of carving the jade flower: Jade Flower- work in progress

Lachlan
Thanks guys, I went through a bit of solder and silver and many hours before I worked out how to solder the flower bits together effectively! Was using a massive campstove butane torch which didnt make it easier though.
