CharlaM
Hi, just wanted to introduce myself to the group. I've started carving bone a year ago, pretty much self taught. I've watched a lot of video's and some books as well.I've spent a lot of money buying carvings from other artists until I realized that I could probably make it myself and that's how it started.I look forward to learning more from others, especially I'm interested in lashings and doing inlays now.I hope you enjoy the 4 photo's I've downloaded. Heidi L
Also, your story of deciding to begin carving yourself after admiring other pieces is very similar to mine. I can see myself spending a small fortune on all of the focal stone beads that I find, so instead I am going to try my hand at making my own! Heidi L
Thank you Charla! I am working on getting my small set up going now, and will post once I get some pieces going! I have spent some time in Hilo on a couple of trips to the Big Island. Absolutely love that entire area but there is a great charm to Hilo that you don't find anywhere else. I hope to return and visit again one day! Kindest, Heidi
