Komada Ryushi carving demonstration at Smithsonian's Freer and Sackler Galleries

NPR (National Public Radio) broadcast an interview and netsuke carving demonstration with Komada Ryushi from the Smithsonian Institution's Freer and Sackler Galleries this week.  Komada Makiko, Ryushi's daughter, served as interpreter during their conversation with NPR's Maureen Pao.

Ryushi demonstrates the way the tools are held and used with small scraping motions.
