LarryWilkes
I took shots of a couple of trees on this most recent beautiful Sunday. They're oaks, a few hundred years old. There are many wonderful ancient oaks in Sherwood, which is a 40 minute drive from my home, and I'd be more than happy to share more of them with everyone through TCP. Can't promise shots of Robin and the guys, though.

Janel
Do these trees have any bark on them?
Jim Kelso
That's what I'm talkin' about! Thanks Larry. Yes more please. Do you go to the Buhrnam(sp?) Beeches?
LarryWilkes
No bark on these, Janel - smooth as a baby's bottom. Beautiful and mysterious Burnham Beeches is in the south, Jim, though it's not far by US standards! I've noticed on websites that Sherwood is always represented by one tree - the famous Major Oak, said to have held a banquet (of Merry Men?) in it's massive hollow trunk. But there are many magnificent specimens in the forest and I'll be only too happy to photograph them when I'm next there.
