Jim Kelso
Santa and the White Beasts! Welcome Nancy. I'm curious how tall he is and what wood you used?
Nancymo
Jim - My bandsaw is a 14" Delta so just about all my Santas end up being 12 or 13" tall. And everything I carve is basswood that I have shipped in from Wisconsin. I've tried a few other woods and fail miserably -- same as I fail when I try power tools. I stick with my bass and little palm tools
rmiller3
What is your source for basswood? Ralph p.s., great Santas - we all need more of them!
Nancymo
For 15 or so years I've bought all my wood from Dale Heinecke, Cumberland, Wi 54829, (715) 822-8642. Or his brother Dale at (715) 822-3525 http://www.heineckewood.com/index.htm Depending on where you are --- sometimes you can see them at a local carving show. They bring wood to one Missouri show each year.
chuck bennett
Nancy- Nice work. Your little guys are great. I used to live in Branson West. Did I see some of your stuff in Branson or Silver Dollar City? It looks real familiar. I can't remember the carving shop on the south side of the street in Branson. The shop/store was full of great carvings by several different carvers. Nice work thanks for showing it to us. Chuck
