tsterling
Here's what I've been busy with lately, a little squid and his (her?) lunch. Here are the details: 1 5/8 inch welded cable carbon steel blade, pyrographed and polychromed English boxwood handle with fossil ivory and ebony double inlaid eyes, red silk wrapping, 6 inches overall length. Dick Kahle
Hi Tom I love your dagger and the whymsical approach to the handle. But would'nt it have been simpler to say wood burned rather than pryographed? Dick Kahle
Janel
What fun, Tom! Your imagination does not limit you! Thanks for sharing.
tsterling
Thanks for the kind words! Dick, marketing can be everything in the sales world, hence the fancier term. Pyrography has a more "artistic" connotation than wood burning (sounds like craft, not art). Not intending to ignite the art/craft debate. I also use polychrome to mean colored. Guest ford hallam
Hi Tom, surely if you are careful with your pyrographic paintbrush ( soldering iron ) you won't ignite anything. I will echo the sentiments expressed earlier, I enjoy your juxtaposition of materials too. well I must get back to my metal carving, oops!, I mean polychromatic alloy sculpting. regards, Ford
