Cathy Thomas
The image formed by the bark pattern lasted only one year. I'm so glad I saw it. Cathy
Dino
Maybe it had been there for more than 30 years and you only saw the last? I love pictures like these in trees and other growths. I have my own digicam now and will surely make some photos of this kind in future... Regards, Dino
rmiller3
Hi Cathy, Many years ago I tried to create a dictionary of tree barks in order to evoke emotional and/or objective responses. Your footprint certainly would be interesting in this respect. I figured smooth peeling bark like on the Washington state's madrona trees would be smooth sailing but possibly trouble in the future. The bark of a Ficus benjaminii seemed to evoke a heightened sense of alertness. Basically I was looking for ways to subliminally evoke a sense of awareness in the individual without their minds having to process "words". Never came to much, but it was interesting nonetheless.
