Dino
Hello to all. Here is a small figurative work I finished recently. 11cm long 6 cm wide. The original root almost asked for it Unfortunately I have no pics from the beginning. It was fun to create sth like that, maybe I will do more... Janel
Hi Dino, Thanks for posting the images of the new piece! Did you see the shape in the wood before you started?
Dino
Hello Janel Thx for asking Well, I really can say that I saw that shape from the very beginning in that root. So I took it out, although there now is some bark left because the proprotions forced me to do so and the inclusions were deeper than expected. But I don't find that really disturbing. Gives it a touch of fossile, I think. I had no camera at that time so I have no photo of the original root. Due to my affinity to all denizens of the sea and their fantastic shapes I thought it would be not really a change of style to do sth figurative in that way. And maybe it fits in this forum a bit more than most of my other works. Although I never felt rejected here at all, anyway!
