Jim Kelso
Thanks very much Tom & Janel for setting up a metal arena. I think tribute should be paid to the scores of past masters, journeymen and apprentices, known and unknown, who, through centuries have left us a legacy of inspiring works and sublime technique. Without them, who knows what we would be doing. Here is a kogo(incense container) in shibuichi with inlaid pure silver, shakudo and gold by the great Shoami Katsuyoshi. Made by him at age 77 in 1908, the year he died.(1832-1908) (thanks Kagedo Gallery) The subject is a sagi or snowy heron flying through a snowy night.
